Many editors find their desks full at this time of year, with all kinds of nonsensical rubbish, pretty snow-clad repentance and other trash.  Fortunately, being in the outer reaches of the spiral galaxy known as “The Internet”, the editor of The Magickal Review is pleased and proud to announce that no such frivolity has been received in regard to such matters, save a portrait of Rudolf II’s Vertumnus-cum-C.S. Lewis’ Aslan, which is actually quite pretty, but will not be reproduced for reasons of Occult Dignity (cf. Ps. Dionysius).

Furthermore, any comments along the lines of “Aiwass should have chosen a better festival period than early spring” will be met with profound indifference on the Grand Scale; which is, Qabalistically speaking, Silence x 1000 = 65 000.

To cut a long story short, the civil year of 2004 has been a ridiculously easy one for The Magickal Review.  Practically no content of any real worth has been added to the site since, oh, I dunno, September of 2003; except for: the digital scans of the Enochian manuscripts; The Ritual Opening of the Veil; the “Kelley Angelic Font” (and notes); the Dee & Kelley cryptic crossword; an update to Sepher Sephiroth (revised); a new edition of Liber AL; the A∴A∴ Sigils; Rituals 25 & 28; and some turgid rubbish by Bulwer-Lytton and Aleister “Who?” Crowley; etc., etc.

Anyway, sensible scholars will not be batting any eyelids at this repertoire of inanity, and will move on to pastures greener, such as Lashtal.com’s Christmas festivities.  Ah well!  It’s all a matter of taste, as the poet said.

Readers who noticed the proofing error in Section III of Burton’s “Kasidah” are awarded a special prize: the editor is almost frantic with despair, and his best friend has just handed him a pistol with one bullet, and told him “There’s only one way out for a gentleman”.  The Staff of the 2005 Magickal Review are saddened, but can cope with the loss.  Selah!

It is undeniable that there is a certain climatic charm at this time of year, for those who live in Northern latitudes and have central heating, which conduces towards a sense of goodwill and merriment amongst those who have access to a drinks-cabinet or other source of analgesia.  This alternative [self-indulgent] Mithramas message comes from just such a spirit of giniality – ahem! – geniality:

Whilst updating the [already “revised”] Sepher Sephiroth, our esteemed editor discovered an amusing little gematric correspondence, which is noted here:

Sum [1-61] = 1891 = MChShVP H-LBN, “The Naked Splendour”.  (The only factors of 1891 are 31 & 61.)  See Liber AL I:14, I:46, et passim.

This proves that he was wrong to exclude notes relating to prime numbers, factors, etc., in the original edition of that work; and the oversight has now been corrected, with a table of factors and all the other glossolalia.
